About Us.
Training swimmers, creating legends.
Swimming is probably one of the best and most dedicated sporting disciplines. This, fun and healthy activity places no strain on the body while it strengthens muscles and improves endurance. Swimming is not only a sport, it is also a survival skill - being able to swim is a necessity, such as being able to read and write. With over 25 years experience and results to prove it, Dolphins Swimming Club is one of Namibia's best swimming facilities. The club caters for swimmers of all ages and abilities - its swimming programs offer a wide range of activities such as Baby Swimming, Learn to Swim, Competitive swimming, Special Needs swimming and Masters Swimming classes.
Dolphins Swimming club was established in 1997. Initially, it catered for babies and toddlers in learn to swim classes. In 1998, eight Dolphins swimmers competed in their first ever competitive event - Dillinger Cup, in Swakopmund. And a few years later Dolphins athletes featured in major international events - FINA World Championships and Junior Olympic Games.
Today, Dolphins is the largest swimming club in Namibia. We have over 700 swimmers of which 120 swim competitively and are registered with Namibia Swimming Federation (NASFED).

Owner and Head Coach
Janis Stergiadis
I was a top competitive swimmer in the Czech Republic and completed several coaching courses in Europe before coming to Namibia in 1996.
I believe the role of a coach is very important - they can make or break a swimmer. My top priority is to make sure that children enjoy swimming and look forward to their classes. I take great pride in seeing them grow in sport and, ultimately achieve their dreams.

Swimming Head Coach, Dolphins Manager
Sofia Stergiadis
I have been coaching for over 20 years. My work always puts me in a good mood. I enjoy working with young children because they are incredibly honest and full of raw emotion. Seeing how much joy swimming brings to them is very rewarding. I, myself, learned to swim at an early age and still do so recreationally. The water makes me feel safe and keeps me fit.

Sport has always been a part of my life. I studied Human Movement Studies and did my honors in Sport Science as well as Master's degree in Sport Education.
I was a lecturer in the department of Sport Education at UNAM for 18 years and helped to establish Dolphin's Swimming Club over 20 years ago.
I love teaching and helping children to be the best at what they want to achieve. It is incredibly satisfying to see young swimmers reach their goals.

Whether the goal is to learn the skill behind the doggy-paddle or competing in an all-stroke swim meet, competing in a competitive triathlon or an ultra long marathon race.
I have the passion, drive and the gadgets to get you there.
